Since I had so much fun setting up sounds and color
highlights for the Wizard, I figured I may as well share some of the fun.

Why did I bother making highlights for ALL those strings? Well - they really help when the screen is scrolling very fast and I can't see, especially during an invasion! They come in handy when I'm not paying attention to the Wizard window, but some critter is coming to chew me up! The wound highlights are very helpful to me in healing, and in diagnosing others' wounds (yes, sometimes I'm a healer, too!). And when things are quiet, they all seem to make life a little more interesting. Well anyhow, enjoy.
In case you don't know how to set these up, here are some instructions to help.
To make the Wizard play a sound file for a certain event, first you have to create a highlight string - then assign the file to the string!
PUTTING SOUNDS IN THE WIZARD TO USE FOR EVENTS
First of all, you'll need to download some sounds and put them in your Wizard's sound directory. If you've never changed this setting, this is probably where the sounds need to be downloaded - C:\Program Files\Wizard\Gemstone\Sounds\ or something similar. You'll have to explore your computer and find the exact place to put them. (If you want to look and find out the Wizard's setting, click on "Configuration" "Options" and then "Directory Paths". This will show you where to download your sounds to.)
Below you can download part of my collection of sounds to try out!
1) Click on the file name and wait for it to download
2) Hold your mouse over the pop-up window, right-click on it, and choose
"Save As" from the menu
3) Save the file in your Wizard's sound directory
ASSIGNING SOUNDS TO STRINGS
1) Click on "Configuration" in the Wizard file menu.
2) Click on "Text Strings"
3) Click on "String Highlights" - this will put you in the string editor.
From here, you can create the new ones, or edit your existing ones.
To create a new one: You could use your own ideas, or try some of mine in the list below. If you don't like one, you can always delete it later.
-Click on New. Type in the phrase,
and click "ok". My suggestion: make it the same color as the
regular text in your wizard so you don't see bright yellow everytime a sound
gets triggered!
-Click on the arrow beside the box which
now reads "No Sound". Here is where you select a .wav or .midi file
to play whenever that string scrolls through the Wizard window. Just
click on the sound you want for that new string.
Click on "Ok" once you're done adding new ones.
Now you should be all set to download some files, and set them up!
SOUND FILES AND HIGHLIGHT STRINGS
Included is the string I use for each sound, and a link to the sound itself. Some fun highlight strings without sounds are also included.
NOTE: these colors work best with a black
background, and light grey text.
Also: most of the sound strings work best when set as "case insensitive",
and "not on word boundary"; the highlight strings with no sounds, as "highlight
entire line".
